Hope Lamberson, APRN
Hope Lamberson is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, who specializes in pediatric and adolescent mental health. Hope received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Binghamton University, and a master’s degree from Fairfield University. Prior to entering the psychiatric field, Hope worked for ten years as a registered nurse on the Transplant and Medical/Surgical Unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Hope began her masters focusing on family medicine but soon found a passion for mental health due to her experience at Yale caring for individuals in crisis, and transitioned to complete her masters as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Hope’s experience includes treating children, adolescents and adults at Bridges Community Health Center in Milford, and she currently practices as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center in Norwalk. Hope’s practice includes completing psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy and
psychopharmacology for her clients.

Hope is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) therapy. EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that involves the individual recalling and discussing a disturbing memory, while experiencing bilateral sensory input such as lateral side-to- side eye movements. Such memories have a lasting negative effect that interferes with the way the individual sees the world and the way he or she relates to other people. The aims of EMDR therapy is to relieve the negative associations of such disturbing memories using the brain’s natural processing mechanisms.

Hope utilizes EMDR therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavior therapy concepts and psychopharmacology to help relieve symptoms stemming from disorders ranging from ADHD and anxiety to trauma and mood disorders. Hope works closely with the individual and family to ensure the safety and respect of the individual she is treating.
